The Global Access to Skin Health Observatory Study
A collaboration between the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) and L’Oreal Dermatological Beauty, led by Dr. Esther Freeman.
This ground-breaking global study aims to address the lack of comprehensive global data on the distribution of dermatologists and barriers to dermatologic care across all 194 WHO member state countries. While access to dermatologic carehas been studied in some countries or regions, there remains no consistent worldwide data.
Skin Observatory Team
This global initiative is driven by a diverse, multidisciplinary team that includes a six-member Steering Committee, responsible for the study’s design, data analysis, and strategic partnerships with key organizations. Thirteen Regional Directors, representing the six WHO regions, act as essential links between global leadership and regional stakeholders. Together with our Epidemiological Methods Director and dedicated Study Support staff, and under the expert leadership of Dr. Esther Freeman (Principal Investigator) and Dr. J. Michael Yardman-Frank, the SkinObservatory team is committed to delivering a comprehensive, impactful study on global dermatological care.
